While fig trees generally grow best in USDA Zones 8-10, Chicago Hardy can grow in zones as low as 6 in a sheltered spot, or even 5 when planted in a container and given extra winter protection.

The Chicago Hardy Fig Tree is incredibly tough, producing masses of delicious purple fruits with bright red centers. The fruits also ripen early, ideal for any impatient gardeners.
