With the ‘Women Are Heroes’ project, French artist JR pays tribute to those who are often the primary victims of violence in situations of conflict — women. Through large-scale images, he exposes the light and hope that still exist in their gaze despite the harshness they have endured. This responsibly-made deck by The Skateroom, which features the eyes of women photographed in Kenya’s largest slum, creates a highly impactful wall display (with the option to use it for riding).
